Our optometry practice is actively involved with many community groups in regional NSW.

Advanced eye scanning technology
Our practice has digital retinal scan, OCT scan (Optical Cohorence Tomography) and visual field testing. These scans can detect early signs of eye disease and general health conditions.

Therapeutics endorsed
Our optometrist Dr Nandita Chowdhury is the only optometrist in Picton with therapeutic endorsement. She can prescribe eye drops for many eye conditions including conjunctivitis, red eye, inflammation of the eyes, glaucoma, viral eye infections, mild to severe dry eye conditions. She can prescribe antibiotics, steroids, anti virals and drops to lower eye pressure. Nandita can remove foreign bodies from eyes.

CASA eye examination
Our optometrist is endorsed by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and can perform detailed eye and vision tests for obtaining a pilot’s license. This examination thoroughly assesses various aspects of sight such as depth perception, field of view, and overall eye health for Class 1 or Class 3 medical certificates.

Nandita is the principal optometrist of Picton Eyecare. She has over 15 years of extensive experience working in corporate and independent optometry practice.

The optical dispensers, Elijah and Melinda are also very knowledgeable, friendly, organised and have great communication, making every process very smooth and easy to deal with😊 5/5 stars!
The team is always super helpful and friendly and there are plenty of glasses and styles to choose from. Nandita and Mel provided lots of advice and helped me pick out a new pair of sunnies. They really took the time to go through the different options and let me try out the different tints outside to see how I would like it. She also does the glasses for my parents and they’ve also had similar experiences with her.

I switched after going to another optometrist for 20 years and honestly wish I’d done it sooner 😂 I’m learning things about my eyes I should’ve known years ago, so knowledgeable and thorough, I know I’m in good hands. I know Nandita was cringing internally when I confidently told her I slept in my contact lenses but she very gently told me not to do that and why which made me change my views on it 😂😂😂
The team is always so friendly, and Mel made choosing my new glasses easy… she was so supportive, I’ve never felt prettier 💁♀️😂
